Not only were professional partnerships established between Slovak and Polish soldiers, but also strong friendships were forged, leading to the organisation of sporting events. The Polish Special Forces regularly organise similar activities, which inspired the Slovaks to create a similar initiative at home. This is how the Solidarity Run came into being, and since its inception it has become an integral part of the Slovak Special Forces events.
From the very beginning, the main organiser of the Solidarity Run has been the 5th Special Forces Regiment in Žilina in cooperation with the Jozef Gabčík Running Club (BKJG). In 2019, the Association of the 5th Special Forces Regiment and Special Forces will also join the organisation, providing an additional dimension of support for the event.
The Solidarity Run is primarily for members of the Special Forces and their families, but it is also open to the wider community. The event has become a symbol of cooperation and friendship between the Special Forces of Slovakia and Poland.
